I sideloaded onto my amazon fire tv and the app loads but there's no support for the remote. you can't scroll or select anything. I tried pairing my magic mouse with it but it wouldn't pair. The android app is developed for touch screens so there's just no support for it that I know of

I would like to add my experience to the controller problem. It is easy to get the Android app on the Fire TV but i can't pick movies with either the remote control or the remote control app. If someone has solved this please lend us a hand. Thanks.

With Fire TV it is possible to use wireless keyboard, I have one with integrated touch pad, with it I can browse and select movies. But like noticed earlier it won't work with Fire TV's original remote - at least not yet, perhaps with future updates it could be compatible with original remote too. ;)

I've an Asus Nexus Android TV box. Works great putting video and sound via HDMI to my receiver. and then the video to the TV. I use Kodi, Netflix, Ted, Hulu, etc. It came with a bluetooth remote. I added support for a Logitech infrared remote. There is even an Android smartphone controller app for it. Kodi even allows apps to run in its shell and has its own smartphone app. Will Popcorn work with any of this?

Same here. I use an old LG G2 android phone with a Chromecast 2.
