In case movies are lagging even if you watch them from local disc - probably issue could be in the video card, i.e. its overheating or just need to update drivers to eliminate video codecs handling issues.
In case you select different torrents of the same movie and it still lagging - try to clear Cache folders located at C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\. + PopcornTimeDesktop.

I have the same on all my 3 computers and there is a gaming pc and i7 htpc included. I have lots of lag when I watch trough the popcorn player. If . the movie (after its completely downloaded) with VLC player it runs perfectly smooth. All drivers are updated and it cant be the hardware. With much older . of popcorn I never had this, but this is going on for quite some . until now (6.2.1.14).

@PopcornJohn I've never got this issues.
I watched today last Terminator and 1917, there are no issues.
Maybe you have issues with your HDD?

I just upgraded to . 6.2.1.14 a couple of days ago and now all of the movies are lagging. I can only watch them on VLC once they've been downloaded. I've seen you guys have been having the same issue with this .. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it, but to no avail. It's surely something to do with this new .. The old one worked just fine.
